Sixth International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science, Valencia, Spain

The Sixth International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science will take place from 16 to 18 May 2012 in Valencia, Spain.

Information science is an interdisciplinary field primarily concerned with the analysis, collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information. It focuses on understanding problems from the perspective of the stakeholders involved and then applying information and other technologies as needed. To do this, it incorporates aspects of archival science, cognitive science, management, public policy and other fields.

The event will be a forum for scientists, researchers, engineers and developers from a wide range of information science areas to exchange ideas and approaches in this evolving field. Topics are set to include:
- information system engineering;
- business applications;
- database and information system integration;
- decision information systems;
- data management;
- knowledge management;
- knowledge discovery from data;
- management applications;
- spatial information systems;
- software testing;
- human-computer interaction.
